Boxer Amir Khan goofs up, mistakenly says Pakistan's chances depend on 'match-fixing'

After a heart-wrenching defeat against the West Indies, Sarfraz Ahmed led Pakistan would be eyeing a fresh start in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 when they face England today at Trent Bridge.

British-Pakistan origin boxer Amir Khan made a horrendous mistake while opining on Pakistan’s chances in the tournament. The 32-year-old had a slip of tongue and mistakenly told ‘match-fixing’. “Any team in the World Cup has a great chance. It just depends on the draw, depends on the match-fixing,” Amir was quoted as saying. The star boxer made this mistake while he was explaining how all the teams have equal chance of winning the World Cup. However, he realised his mistake and rectified his previous words. “On the matches, how they fix the games. I just feel with cricket being a difficult sport, if you are starting very badly, then it’s hard to get your points back. What Pakistan has to do in my opinion is to start very strong early,” he mentioned. After a heart-wrenching defeat against the West Indies, Sarfraz Ahmed led Pakistan would be eyeing a fresh start in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 when they face England today at Trent Bridge. Pakistan faced a humiliating loss as their batting order crumbled against the Caribbean bowling, especially against the short balls as Andre Russell and Oshane Thomas had them hopping around. None of their batsmen showed the intent, managing to score only 103 runs.
