BCCI Penalizes Hardik, Nehra In IPL 2025 - Details Inside

Gujarat Titans' head coach Ashish Nehra was fined 25 percent of his match fee for violating the IPL Code of Conduct.

In a rain-affected Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Gujarat Titans (GT) at Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday, Gujarat Titans emerged as the winners by 3 wickets. However, the match was also marred by disciplinary fines for Mumbai's captain Hardik Pandya and Gujarat's head coach Ashish Nehra.

Hardik Pandya Fined Rs 24 Lakh

Mumbai Indians' captain Hardik Pandya was fined Rs 24 lakh for a slow over-rate, marking his second such violation this season. Also, the rest of the Mumbai Indians players were fined 25 percent of their match fees.

Gujarat Titans' head coach Ashish Nehra was fined 25 percent of his match fee for violating the IPL Code of Conduct. Furthermore, he received a demerit point for actions deemed contrary to the spirit of the game. Nehra accepted the Level 1 offense and the match referee's sanctions.

Mumbai Falls Short Against Gujarat

Mumbai Indians set a target of 155 runs after batting first. Due to rain, Gujarat Titans required 147 runs as per the DLS method, which they successfully achieved in 19 overs. With this win, Gujarat Titans moved to the top of the points table.

IPL Playoffs: 2 Teams Secure Spot, 5 Teams Fight for Top-4 Finish

Gujarat's victory over Mumbai Indians on Tuesday (May 6) has propelled them to the top of the points table, bringing them very close to securing a playoff spot with 16 points from 11 matches.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), also with 16 points from 11 matches, sits second - this is because Gujarat holds a superior net run rate compared to RCB.

While both teams are virtually guaranteed a spot in the playoffs, Punjab Kings, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Lucknow Super Giants remain in contention for the remaining spots.
