Ashes 2023: Stuart Broad Mocks Australian Media For Considering Ollie Robinson As ‘No. 1 Villain’

Robinson and Khawaja were also spotted in a war of words during the first session of the final day when the visitors were chasing 281 and then James Anderson came in between and separated the duo.

England’s veteran speedster Stuart Broad came with a hilarious comment on a report by Australian media that stated his colleague Ollie Robinson as the "No.1 villain." Robinson was in the headlines during the first Ashes Test in Birmingham for controversial reasons. It all transpired with his infamous send-off to Australian opener Usman Khawaja in the first innings. The English bowler was also heard yelling  "f*** off, you f***ing p***k" at Khawaja after cleaning him up with a deadly yorker.

Robinson and Khawaja were also spotted in a war of words during the first session of the final day when the visitors were chasing 281 and then James Anderson came in between and separated the duo before things turned ugly. Just to add to it, Australian media Fox Cricket came up with a tweet that said, "No. 1 villain Ollie Robinson has learned his fate over an expletive-laden send-off for Usman Khawaja”.

The English veteran pacer Stuart Broad responded to the tweet put up by the  Australian media. He wrote, "No1 Villain?!” I can’t have lost that tag already can I?! Disappointing”.

In the Ongoing Ashes 2023, Broad scalped six wickets for 132 runs in the first game, dismissing Warner for the  15th time in Test cricket. As of now, Broad has 588 scalps in 163 Tests he played, including 20 five-wicket hauls, at an average of 27.6. The Nottinghamshire-based pacer is just 12 wickets away to become the fifth bowler to complete 600 Test dismissals.

Earlier, Robinson also spoke about his send-off to Khawaja and stated that he did not care how others have taken it. He even referred to former Australia skipper Ricky Ponting’s ugly ways of sledging in Ashes Tests from his playing days.
