Ahead of the beginning of the series, Cricket Australia has shared some important information. According to Cricket Australia, the fifth match in the historic series will no longer be played in Perth.

In view of COVID-19, strict restrictions have been imposed in this city, making it impossible to have a match here. The board has not named the new venue at the moment, but it is expected that the match will be played in Melbourne or Hobart. A decision on this would be taken next week.

For the past several months, Cricket Australia and the Western Australia Cricket Institute have been trying to host the match in Perth but were unable to do so due to quarantine and border control regulations. "We are disappointed that fans will not be able to watch this Ashes series match at the new Stadium in Perth," representatives from Cricket Australia said.
