Just a day after the Asia Cup triumph, the BCCI announced the squad for the upcoming ODI series against Australia. The major highlight was Ravichandran Ashwin’s return to the ODI setup as he played his last ODI back in January 2022. Another highlight was that the management decided to give rest to their veteran players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Hardik Pandya for a tournament that is being looked at as the final dress rehearsal before the World Cup.
Talking about Virat, he had a decent outing at Asia Cup 2023 where he smashed his 47th ODI and 77th international century against Pakistan in the Super Four stage. He made 129 runs in three innings. This series will also mark India’s last assignment before the high-octane ICC Cricket World Cup, starting at home on October 5.
Anushka on the other hand will be spotted in the upcoming sports biopic film 'Chakda Xpress' which is based on the life of former Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami.
