Virat Kohli dismissal in IND vs AUS Final: During the Cricket World Cup 2023 final between India and Australia at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium, Virat Kohli's dismissal by Pat Cummins left the star cricketer visibly stunned. Kohli's resilient innings of 54 off 63 balls steadied India after the early dismissals of Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Shreyas Iyer. Despite hitting four boundaries and marking his ninth fifty-plus score, Kohli's innings concluded abruptly as a short ball from Cummins resulted in an inside edge, crashing into the stumps.

Before the game commenced, Kohli received a significant gesture from cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar. Tendulkar presented Kohli with his '10' jersey, the one he wore in his last ODI match against Pakistan in 2012. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared this special moment on their official social media account, emphasising the significance of the occasion with images of both legends and the jerseys.
"A special occasion & a special pre-match moment. Sachin Tendulkar 2011 and Virat Kohli 2023," BCCI wrote on X. Earlier in the tournament, Kohli made history by surpassing Sachin Tendulkar as the first player in ODI cricket to achieve 50 centuries. In a heartfelt gesture, Kohli bowed to Tendulkar in the stands, acknowledging the cricket legend's applause for breaking his record.
Moreover, Kohli now holds the record for the most runs scored in a single Cricket World Cup edition, surpassing Sachin's tally of 673 runs in the 2003 tournament.
