Andre Russell dropped from final ODI against Bangladesh

Sheldon Cottrell has been named Russel's replacement in the squad for the final ODI

The West Indies cricket team has received a huge blow right ahead of the decider game against Bangladesh on Saturday at St Kitts. Star all-rounder Andre Russell has sustained a knee injury and will be missing the final ODI, as confirmed by Cricket West Indies.

Speedster Sheldon Cottrell has been included in the side who will replace Russell for the final game.

Returned in the ODIs after almost 3 years, Russell could only feature in the first match which his team lost to the hosts by 4 wickets. The 30-year-old scored 13 runs and managed to get just 1 wicket.

He had to miss the 2nd face-off as he underwent a knee treatment. West Indies won the match by 3 runs and levelled the series 1-1.

Though Russell has been rested again for the decider, he is expected to return in the three-match T20I series between the nations which begins on begins on 31 July, with the two other matches on August 4 and August 5.
