'Always Tries To Be..': Aussie Star Makes Huge Statement On Viral Kohli Ahead Of WTC Final
The Australian all-rounder was in praise for India's Virat Kohli ahead of the WTC Final.
The much-awaited ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final is all set to get underway at the Oval in London on June 7 with India set to take on Australia in the summit clash of the 2021-23 cycle. Both the teams have already started to look forward to the crucial fixture which will decide who will become the champions in the longest format of the game. Prior to the match, Australian all-rounder Cameon Green has showered massive praise on India's veteran batter Virat Kohli. Green rated Kohli as someone who wants to do well in big games.
In an interaction with ICC, Green said that since the WTC Final is a big stage, Kohli would once again be eager to perform and help his side get over the line.
"Virat Kohli. I think he always tries to be the man to stand up in big moments," Green said. "A World Test Championship is obviously a massive moment, so I look forward to that."
"There is nothing like Test cricket when you're kind of out in the middle," Green further said.
"Obviously your nerves are running really high. I think the best players are the best ones that are able to handle that," he added.
Green played under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 where is part of the Mumbai Indians (MI) franchise. However, the two will now be locking horns against each other in the WTC final. Green played a pivotal role in helping MI secure a qualification in the Playoffs after they had yet another poor start to the season but the lanky batter played quite a few crucial innings and also chipped in with the all to get them through to the final four.
However, MI lost the Qualifier 2 to Gujarat Titans (GT) who made it to the finals but succumbed to a defeat against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
