After David Warner, Cameron Bancroft scores just 1 run in his comeback match
Cameron Bancroft was slapped with a 9-month ban from Cricket Australia after he was found guilty of ball tampering during the Cape Town Test
After Steve Smith and David Warner, banned Australian cricketer Cameron Bancroft marked his comeback on the cricket field, representing the Desert Blaze in NT Strike League in Darwin.
Coming back in the competitive cricket after almost three months, Bancroft, however, failed to do anything special. Playing against Southern Storm, he opened for his team, took a quick single of the first ball he faced but couldn’t score more. He was caught on cover off Blade Baxter’s delivery.
After the game, Bancroft interacted with the media personnel and stated that his return has been exciting. But at the same time, he admitted that his performance wasn’t the same. He said, “Obviously not an ideal start but the team won, it’s not all about you sometimes.”

A day before the match, Bancroft asserted that he had to forgive himself for the Cape town incident and move forward. He said, “I can’t change what happened in South Africa and that’s something I’m completely accountable for. But overall, I’ve worked really hard on myself, been really busy with a lot of things and right now it’s just another step forward, heading up to Darwin to play some cricket and I’m really looking forward to it.”

Smith and Warner, who were also slapped with a 12-month ban, recently made their respective comebacks in the inaugural edition of the Global T20 Canada. While Smith hammered 61 runs in his first match, Warner could only score one run in his comeback game.
