17-Year-Old Yashasvi Jaiswal Becomes Youngest Cricketer To Slam List A Double Ton

At 17 years and 292 days, Yashasvi scored 203 runs off 154 deliveries with 17 fours and 12 sixes. He now owns the record of most sixes by any batsman in Vijay Hazare Trophy match

Young Mumbai opener Yashasvi Jaiswal scripted history in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy against Jharkhand on Wednesday. The 17-year-old slammed a terrific double ton to become the youngest Indian cricketer to do so in List A cricket. At 17 years and 292 days, Yashasvi scored 203 runs off 154 deliveries. His innings was laced with 17 fours and 12 sixes, helping Mumbai post 358/3 at the KSCA Cricket Ground. He now owns the record of most sixes by any batsman in Vijay Hazare Trophy match. This was his third century in the ongoing tournament. He has amassed 585 runs in five matches so far and is also the leading run-scorer of the tournament, taking over from Tamil Nadu's Baba Aparajith. With this feat, the young Mumbai batsman also became the first teenager ever to slam a List A double ton. Also, he is the first 21st Century born player to have done this marvel in Indian domestic 50-over games. Once a panipuri seller, Yashasvi become the seventh Indian cricketer to score a double century in List A cricket. Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Rohit Sharma (thrice), Shikhar Dhawan, KV Kaushal and Sanju Samson are the other Indian cricketers who have scored double hundreds in List A cricket. Sanju last week scored a double hundred in the ongoing tournament when he played a scintillating 212-run knock for Kerala against Goa on October 12.
