Devotees begin the day by taking an early morning bath and wearing clean clothes. They take a vow to observe a fast while meditating on Dev Rishi Narad. The prayer space is cleaned and sanctified with the sprinkling of Gangajal (holy water). A small platform is set up, and a cloth is spread over it to install an idol or image of Narad Muni.

The worship involves offering fruits, flowers, sweets, incense sticks, and a lamp (deep) to the deity with devotion. After the ritual, the prasad (holy offering) is distributed among all family members.

Religious Significance Of Narad Jayanti:

Narad Jayanti holds deep religious significance. Performing charitable deeds and feeding Brahmins on this day is considered highly auspicious. It is believed that worshipping Narad Muni brings peace, prosperity, and happiness to one’s life.

The Divine Form Of Dev Rishi Narad:

Dev Rishi Narad holds an esteemed position in Hindu belief as a bridge between gods, sages, and demons. He is often depicted wearing a traditional dhoti and an orange garland around his neck. Narad Muni carried no weapons, yet he was respected by both deities and demons alike. His only companion was a Veena (a musical instrument), which he always held in his hands.

Though he roamed freely among the three worlds, Narad Muni never stayed in one place for long. The first and last words from his lips were always — Narayan... Narayan.
