Rituals And Worship:

Devotees begin the day with an early morning bath and wear clean red or saffron-colored clothes, symbolizing purity and devotion. At home or in temples, idols or pictures of Lord Hanuman are respectfully installed for the worship rituals.

The deity is offered traditional items such as vermilion, jasmine oil, red flowers, jaggery and roasted gram, sacred thread (janeu), and tulsi leaves. Special offerings include boondi laddoo, seasonal fruits, and betel leaves. Devotees light incense and lamps, and then recite sacred texts like Hanuman Chalisa, Bajrang Baan, or Sundarkand with deep devotion.

The rituals conclude with Hanuman Aarti, and the prasadam is distributed among all present. Those observing a fast are advised to follow a sattvic (pure vegetarian) diet, avoiding garlic, onion, non-vegetarian food, and excessively spicy or heavy meals. Such disciplined worship is believed to enhance mental stability, inner strength, and willpower.

Acts Of Charity And Significance:

Charity holds a vital place in Bada Mangal observances. Donating food, clothes, red sandalwood, or money to the needy is considered highly meritorious. These acts of kindness are believed to bring prosperity, good fortune, and spiritual growth.

For individuals suffering from Mangal Dosh (astrological affliction related to Mars), this day is especially beneficial.

Spiritual Mantra:

The day’s worship is ideally concluded with the chanting of the powerful mantra:
“Om Han Hanumate Namah”
Chanting Lord Hanuman’s name and remembering his qualities are said to infuse one’s life with positive energy, courage, and fearlessness.
