Mokshada Ekadashi 2024: Does Mokshada Ekadashi Grant Salvation? Know Here

The Mokshada Ekadashi fast, observed during the Margashirsha month, holds significant religious and spiritual importance. It is considered highly beneficial for liberation, progress, and success.

Mokshada Ekadashi 2024: As per the Hindu Panchang, the Ekadashi that falls in the Shukla Paksha (waxing phase of the moon) of the month of Margashirsha is known as Mokshada Ekadashi. Observing a fast and worshiping Lord Vishnu on this day is believed to free individuals from sins and hardships. The day holds special significance for the worship of Lord Vishnu in his four-armed form (Chaturbhuja Swaroop).

Date and Parana Timings In 2024:

This year, Mokshada Ekadashi falls on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, with the fast concluding (Parana) on Thursday, December 12, 2024. The occasion coincides with Gita Jayanti, the day Lord Krishna imparted the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita.

Significance Of Mokshada Ekadashi:

Devotees worship both Lord Vishnu and Lord Krishna on this auspicious day. According to astrologer Anish Vyas, Mokshada Ekadashi is especially revered for its association with liberation (moksha). Observing this fast is believed to grant peace to the souls of one’s ancestors, paving their path to salvation.

The Ekadashi also holds immense spiritual value for the devotees themselves. It is said that fasting and worshiping on this day purifies individuals of their sins, bestows them with success in life, and ensures a place in heaven after death.

Mokshada Ekadashi Puja Vidhi (Rituals):

  • Morning Preparations: Begin the day by waking up early, bathing, and wearing clean clothes.
  • Sankalp (Resolution): Light a lamp in your puja room and take a vow to observe the fast with devotion.
  • Worship Setup: Place an idol or picture of Lord Vishnu on a clean platform. Perform Jalabhishek (water offering) and adorn the deity with yellow clothes.
  • Offerings and Prayers: Offer roli, rice, flowers, basil leaves (Tulsi Dal), incense sticks, a lamp, and naivedya (food offerings) while chanting prayers.
  • Reading the Vrat Katha: Conclude the rituals by reading the Mokshada Ekadashi vrat katha (story).
  • Aarti: Perform the concluding aarti to seek blessings.

Mokshada Ekadashi is considered one of the most auspicious occasions in Hindu tradition, emphasising the path of devotion, spiritual upliftment, and liberation. Devotees across India celebrate this day with reverence and dedication.
