WATCH: Andhra Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan Visits Kanaka Durga Temple For Navaratri Moola Nakshatra
Pawan Kalyan’s visit also followed his recent announcement of the Varahi declaration, a key set of demands aimed at protecting Sanatana Dharma.
Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, accompanied by his daughter Aadhya Konidela, paid a visit to the revered Kanaka Durga Temple in Vijayawada on the auspicious occasion of Moola Nakshatram, the seventh day of Navaratri. This day is especially significant as the deity is adorned in the form of Goddess Saraswati, symbolizing knowledge and wisdom.
Earlier, on Tuesday, thousands of devotees gathered at the temple for darshan of the goddess, who was beautifully decorated as Sri Mahalakshmi, the bringer of wealth, on the sixth day of the ongoing Dasara Navaratri festival.
While the crowd remained moderate through the afternoon, the number of devotees surged dramatically after the Maha Nivanda ceremony. By 4 pm, temple authorities reported that approximately 52,000 devotees had visited. Devotees participated in special prayers and kumkumarchana, offering prayers for wealth and prosperity, with Theerthaprasad being distributed to all present.
Pawan Kalyan’s visit also followed his recent announcement of the Varahi declaration, a key set of demands aimed at protecting Sanatana Dharma. During a public meeting addressing concerns over alleged adulteration of the sacred Tirumala Laddu, Kalyan emphasized the need for legislation and a national board to protect Sanatana Dharma. He called for secularism to be upheld, ensuring equal responses to any harm caused to religious faiths.
The declaration further stressed non-cooperation with individuals or organizations that defame Sanatana Dharma and advocated for the implementation of a Sanatana Dharma Certification to guarantee the purity of materials used in offerings and prasadam at temples.
