However, the school has refused to do so and has said such matters will be kept in mind henceforth.

VHP activists have also asked the school administration to give it in writing the reason why the children were not allowed to attend classes.

Right-wing outfit Vishwa Hindu Parishad has also intervened into the controversy and has joined the protests demanding immediate inclusion of students. Girl students who applied mehendi on the occasion of ‘Gauri Vrat’ were asked by the school teachers to stay at home till the colour completely fades off.

As the matter escalated, a local BJP MLA also met the school authorities questioning why the students have been kept out. He alleged that similar matters have cropped up in the past as well about which a complaint will be lodged to the Education Ministry.

Speaking to ABP News over the issue, the parents said the children being sent back is humiliating and also their studies are suffering.
