PM Modi’s Jeddah Arrival Gets Royal F-15 Escort In Rare Saudi Gesture, Set To Meet Crown Prince — IN PICS

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on April 22 for a two-day state visit. This marks the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Jeddah in over four decades.

As a special gesture, the Prime Minister's aircraft was escorted by F-15s of the Royal Saudi Air Force in Saudi airspace. The gesture is being seen as a deepening of defence cooperation between the two countries. Modi described the Crown Prince as "My Brother".

PM Modi will co-chair the second leaders meeting of the India-Saudi Arabia Strategic Partnership Council with the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia. He is also expected to raise issues related to Hajj, including pilgrim quotas for Indian Muslims. (Image Source: PTI)
