Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, a Congress leader, and four-time MLA, took his oath as Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh today, after the party announced his name on Saturday.

SS Sukhu will be the first Congress leader from Lower Himachal to hold the position of President. Lower Himachal Pradesh includes territories that were merged in 1966, including Nalagarh, Una, Hamirpur, Kangra, and the lower slopes of Kullu.
