Prime Video hosted a special screening for its upcoming crime drama 'Dahaad' starring Sonakshi Sinha, Vijay Varma, Gulshan Singh Deviah, Sohum Shah.

The cast and crew of the Amazon Original series graced the carpet in their glamorous best.

Along with Sonakshi and Vijay, the premiere was also attended by the show's ensemble cast, including Gulshan Singh Deviah, Sohum Shah, and director and creators Reema Kagti, Zoya Akhtar, Ruchika Oberoi, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani.

Celebrities and friends from the industry attended the screening as well, to shower their love and support for the series.

Celebrities like Huma Qureshi, Aparshakti Khurana, Kritika Kamra, Varun Sharma, Varun Mitra, Divyenndu Sharma, Ayush Sharma, Shweta Tripathi, Harshita Gaur, Drashti Dhami, Sanaya Irani, Zahir Iqbal, Adarsh Gaurav, Isha Talwar, Ishwaq Singh, Sayani Gupta, and Shobhita Dhulipala, along with filmmakers like Vasan Bala, Vikramaditya Motwane, and Abhinay Deol also graced the blue carpet.

The 8-episode series is created by Excel Media & Entertainment and Tiger Baby and will be available on Prime Video starting May 12.

The trailer follows the story of 27 missing women in the state of Rajasthan with an unsuspected killer on the loose as he eyes his next victim. There's a pattern to these murders and Sonakshi's character of Anjali Bhaati gets the breakthrough as she realises the events are making a chain pointing to one perpetrator.

Sonakshi had said during the trailer launch, "'Dahaad', for me, is an extremely special project. It not only marks my streaming debut, it is also the first ever Indian series to be presented at the 2023 Berlinale Film Festival. Anjali Bhaati is different from any other character I've played before. Reema and Zoya have created a character that is not just unafraid, but has the potential to become a role model for the generation. Working with this cast and crew has been incredible".

Vijay Varma had said in a statement, "'Dahaad' is a gritty-and-gripping shot of adrenaline in a way that is nothing short of special. It is also the most challenging-yet-rewarding character I have played. Anand is a simple teacher, a family man who spends his weekends teaching underprivileged kids. But there is more to him than meets the eye, and that is where the mystery lies".

Sonakshi also learnt biking for the thriller series. Sonakshi's passion for biking did not stop there - post the wrap up of the shoot she gifted herself a bike and since then has made it a part of her lifestyle and often goes for bike nights with her friends.
