In Pics: Maruti Suzuki Fronx — Fuel efficiency, Ground Clearance

Maruti Suzuki showed the Fronx in its production avatar at the Auto Expo 2023 and now more details have been revealed.

The Fronx is a coupe-like SUV and is based on the Baleno. The dimensions of the Fronx read as length of 3995 mm, width of 1765 mm and height of 1550 mm The ground clearance of the Fronx is rated at 190Nm. The Fronx gets LED projector headlights at the front. [Somnath Chatterjee]

In terms of wheels, the Fronx gets 16inch alloy wheels The rear has coupe-like styling while the Fronx gets three dualtone colour options along with six single tone ones. Inside, the Fronx gets a dual tone colour option of black and red with a grey finish console. [Somnath Chatterjee]

In terms of features, the Fronx has a heads-up display, a 360 degree rear view camera, climate control, connected car technology, paddle shifters, Arkamys sound system and wireless smartphone connectivity Safety wise it gets 6 airbags, ESP with hill-hold assist and roll over mitigation, Isofix. Engine options include a 1.2 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine which develops 90 bhp and 113 Nm. Gearbox options for the 1.2l petrol includes a 5-speed manual and an AMT automatic transmission. The Fronx also gets an additional engine being a turbo petrol in form of a 1.0l unit which makes 100 bhp and 147 Nm. This engine comes with a 6-speed Torque converter auto gearbox with paddle shifters and a 5-speed manual as standard. [Somnath Chatterjee]

Efficiency of the Fronx includes kmpl for the turbo petrol manual and automatic while the 1.2l petrol delivers The Fronx will be sold in Nexa showrooms like the Grand Vitara, Baleno and XL6, Ignis. The Fronx will have its prices revealed in a few days time though we of course expect a premium for the turbo petrol although it will occupy a niche for an SUV with this engine.
