Our sources have confirmed that Yamaha is set to update its entire lineup of bikes in India with ABS. The news comes in the backdrop of upcoming safety regulations that mandate CBS and ABS on all two-wheelers from 1 April 2019. Our sources have also confirmed that Yamaha will start rolling out the updated bikes from February. The company had recently equipped the Saluto RX and the Saluto 125 with UBS (Unified Braking System), which is what Yamaha calls its combined braking system.

Yamaha bikes that will get ABS include the FZ range, the SZ-RR Version 2.0, the Fazer FI, the Fazer 25, the FZ25, the YZF-R15S and the YZF-R15 v3.0. In fact, the R15 v3.0, the FZ25 and the Fazer 25 might come with a dual-channel ABS unit. The rest of Yamaha’s bikes, including the R15 S, are likely to feature single-channel ABS.

Considering the power and dynamic ability the R15 v3.0 comes with, offering dual-channel ABS on the bike would be a sensible move from Yamaha. A similar case can be made for the FZ25 and Fazer 25, which are powered by a 250cc engine that dishes out 20.9PS of power and 20Nm of torque.
