"We are not associated in any way with the attack on Hussain Nawaz's residence or the related protest," the spokesperson stated, adding that the party demands swift action to be taken against the suspect(s).

LONDON: An angry mob attempted to attack the Avenfield properties of the Sharif family here on Sunday night, Pakistan media reported. Reports say the agitated peopled belonged to Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI). The Britain's Metropolitan Police had reached the site and conducted searches of the vehicles of the protesters for weapons. PTI’s UK wing condemned the attack on Hussain Nawaz’s residence (Son of Nawaz Sharif), adding that the claim regarding party workers’ involvement in the attacks is baseless. "We are not associated in any way with the attack on Hussain Nawaz's residence or the related protest," the spokesperson stated, adding that the party demands swift action to be taken against the suspect(s). A Pakistani court recently found Nawaz and his political aspirant daughter Mariam, guilty of corruption in the Avenfield Properties (London) case. Nawaz has been sentenced to 10 years' imprisonment and his daughter to seven years, in addition to hefty fines on both. When the verdict came out, PTI supporters gathered outside his London residence and distributed sweets. Pakistan will be holding general election on July 25.
