Canada Plane Crash: A regional jet operated by Delta Air Lines overturned upon landing at Toronto Pearson Airport on Monday amid strong winds following a snowstorm, leaving 18 of the 80 people on board injured, officials reported. The flight carried a total of 80 people, 76 passengers, and four crew members.
Authorities stated that three individuals sustained critical injuries. Among the injured was a child. The flight had departed from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport before it crash landed upon arrival, reported news agency Reuters.

Delta confirmed that the aircraft involved was a CRJ900, operated by its subsidiary Endeavor Air. The CRJ900, manufactured by Canada's Bombardier, has a seating capacity of up to 90 passengers. The incident occurred within barely three weeks after an American Airlines plane collided midair with a US Army Black Hawk helicopter in Washington DC’s Reagan National Airport, killing all 68 in the two aircraft.

Immediately after the accident, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz said: "I’m in touch with Delta after a flight taking off from MSP crash landed in Toronto this afternoon. Grateful to the first responders and professionals on the scene."

Delta Air Lines Activates Helpline Numbers
Delta Air Lines issued a statement after the crash, saying initial reports did not indicate any fatality and 18 injuries. All the injured were rushed to nearby hospitals. "Delta Connection flight 4819, operated by Endeavor Air using a CRJ-900 aircraft, was involved in a single-aircraft accident at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) at around 2:15 p.m. ET* on Monday. The flight originated from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP)," it said.
Endeavor Air is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Delta Air Lines headquartered in Minneapolis.
Delta Air Lines put out helpline numbers for inquiries in Canada and the US about the accident. "In Canada, individuals may reach out via 1-866-629-4775. In the United States, they may connect using 1-800-997-5454," the airline company said.
Delta CEO Ed Bastian said: “The hearts of the entire global Delta family are with those affected by today’s incident at Toronto-Pearson International Airport. I want to express my thanks to the many Delta and Endeavor team members and the first responders on site.
