Top JeM Commander Found Dead Under Mysterious Circumstances In Pakistan's Bahawalpur

Abdul Aizaz Isar — a trusted aide of Jaish founder Masood Azhar for over three decades — died under mysterious circumstances on Monday around 10:30 am in Bahawalpur, according to intelligence sources.

A top commander of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) was found dead under mysterious circumstances in the Punjab province of Pakistan.

Abdul Aziz Isar — a trusted aide of Jaish founder Masood Azhar for over three decades — died under mysterious circumstances on Monday morning around 10:30 am in Bahawalpur, according to intelligence sources.

The death of the Jaish-e-Mohammed commander has given another major jolt to the terror group, operating

His death marks the second significant setback for the group within a month, following India’s recent strike in which 14 members of Masood Azhar's family were killed.

Who Is Abdul Aizaz Isar?

Abdul Aziz Isar was a veteran member of JeM’s Central Shura — the group’s highest decision-making body — which plans major terror attacks, selects targets, and approves operations, especially against India.

Intelligence officials have described him as a key architect of the group’s military strategy and ideological indoctrination.

He had been overseeing Markaz Taleem, JeM’s primary training and radicalisation centre in the Tangir area of Gilgit-Baltistan, a region under Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The camp served as a hub for grooming young recruits and disseminating jihadist propaganda under his supervision.

Three Decades With Masood Azhar

Originally from Ashrafwala village in Pakistan’s Bhakkar district, Isar joined Azhar’s jihadist network in the 1990s. Known for his loyalty and operational acumen, he rose swiftly through the ranks to become one of JeM’s most influential figures, with a central role in planning attacks across Kashmir.

Burial At Bombed-Out Jaish Compound

Sources told ABP News that Isar’s namaz-e-janaza was held at 8:48 pm on Monday within the premises of JeM’s headquarters, Markaz Subhanallah. The site, including its main building and madrasa, had been targeted and destroyed in an Indian Army strike on 7 May.

Isar was buried in the same compound where 14 members of Azhar’s family were laid to rest following the earlier operation.
