Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday departed for Paris where he will attend the French National Day, or Bastille Day celebrations, as the Guest of Honour.
PM Modi will also hold talks with President Emmanuel Macron to take forward cooperation in a range of key areas including defence, space, trade and investment. After concluding his visit to France, Modi will travel to Abu Dhabi.
After reaching Paris, Modi will meet President of the French Senate Gerard Larcher, Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne and address an Indian community event at La Seine Musicale.
In the evening, Macron will host a private dinner for Modi.
On Friday, Modi will attend the Bastille Day Parade, meet the president of French National Assembly Yael Braun-Pivet and will attend a series of interactions with thought leaders and businesspeople.
An Indian tri-services contingent will be part of the Bastille Day Parade. Indian Air Force aircraft will also perform a fly-past on the occasion.
There will be a ceremonial reception for Modi at the Elysee Palace on Friday and it will be followed by delegation-level talks between Modi and Macron.
The two leaders will also participate in the India-France CEO Forum. Later in the evening, Macron will host a banquet for Modi at the iconic Louvre museum complex in Paris.
In his departure statement, PM Modi expressed confidence that his visit to France will provide a new impetus to the bilateral strategic partnership.
"I look forward to meeting President Macron and holding wide-ranging discussions on taking forward this longstanding and time-tested partnership over the next 25 years," Modi said.
Modi will visit Abu Dhabi on July 15 during which he will hold wide-ranging talks with President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to take forward bilateral ties in areas of energy, food security, fintech and defence.

India To Set Up DRDO Technical Office At Its Paris Embassy, Says MEA
In view of the uptick in defence industrial collaborations between the two countries, India is setting up a Technical Office of the DRDO at its Embassy in Paris, says Ministry of External Affairs.
In line with their outstanding cooperation in military aviation spanning over five decades, India and France welcome the timely delivery of the 36 Rafale ordered by India. In the future, India and France will extend their ground-breaking defence cooperation in advanced aeronautical technologies by supporting the joint development of a combat aircraft engine. (A roadmap on this project will be prepared between Safran and DRDO before the end of this year, it adds.

'Not My But Honour Of 140 Crore People...': PM Modi At Joint Presser With French President Macron
Yesterday French President Emmanuel Macron conferred me with the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour, the highest award in France. It is not my honour but the honour of 140 crore people of the country, says PM Modi at the joint press conference with French President Emannuel Macron.
