Meanwhile, the Mosque administration had electrified the charity box to prevent theft. The Mosque representative, detailing the reason behind electrifying charity boxes, said that drug addicts frequently steal donations from the boxes at night.

The police said that Tanveer got electrocuted while he was trying to withdraw the money from the iron donation box.

A photo has also surfaced of the incident, showing the victim lying dead beside the charity box. His hand could be seen stuck in the iron box. The police conducted the postmortem of the victim after taking custody of the body.

The victim's family, meanwhile, requested the police to not take any legal action against anyone. The police, however, registered a case against Mosque Committee members, including Muhammad Aslam, Haji Sabir, Muhammad Ashraf, Muhammad Asghar, Muzammil Hussain, and Muhammad Yasir, the report said.
