Nepal Floods: Pashupatinath Temple Pilgrims From Madhya Pradesh Return To India Safe

Indian pilgrims stranded in Nepal due to floods and landslides have been safely rescued with the help of the Indian and Nepalese governments.

Nepal Floods: Many stranded pilgrims from various cities of Madhya Pradesh, who had gone to visit Lord Pashupatinath in Nepal, breathed a sigh of relief on Wednesday when they finally began their return journey to India. Several pilgrims were stranded due to the rain and floods in Nepal. The Indian government coordinated with the Nepal government to facilitate their return to India.

A total of 23 people from Dindori, Jabalpur, and Rewa were stranded in Nepal.

The flood situation in Nepal has deteriorated. Hundreds of people have been injured in Nepal due to the floods, while more than 200 have lost their lives. Due to the heavy rain, many Shiva devotees from Madhya Pradesh, who had gone to Nepal to seek the blessings of Lord Pashupatinath, found themselves stranded as major roads were either washed away or were blocked by landslides. When the pilgrims informed the government about this through a video, the government swung into action.

The Indian government contacted the Nepal authorities, who sent Army personnel to rescue the stranded people. All the pilgrims are now en route to Madhya Pradesh by road. After being rescued from Nepal, the pilgrims thanked the government. A video of the pilgrims has also gone viral.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said Indians stranded anywhere due to natural calamity or any adverse event will always be cared for and rescued at the earliest. In an X post, he said: "All our brothers and sisters from Madhya Pradesh who were trapped in the landslide area in Nepal have been rescued safely. It is a matter of great satisfaction and joy for us that all the passengers are safe."

"Due to the tireless efforts of the Government of India, all the passengers are being brought from Nepal to India by buses. Soon they will reach their home districts," he added. Yadav also thanked the Government of Nepal, security personnel, and administrative officials for their cooperation in the safe evacuation of the citizens of the state.
