'F*** Off, Indian...': Student Suffers Serious Injury After Racial Attack In Australia

An Indian student suffered serious injuries after a group of men attacked him in Adelaide in what police are investigating as racial crime.

An Indian student was brutally thrashed in Adelaide, Australia, in what is suspected to be a racially motivated attack. The student suffered serious injuries and is currently hospitalised, while the incident has sparked outrage across the Indian community.

Police have arrested one person in connection with the assault and appealed to the public to share information regarding other attackers.

On Saturday, Charanpreet Singh, 23, was with his wife near Kintore Avenue when they were allegedly ambushed by a group of five men, reported 9News.

Singh suffered brain trauma and facial fractures requiring overnight hospital treatment. He said the group of men attacked him after they approached Singh's vehicle and made racist remarks before beating him unconscious and leaving him for dead.

"They just said 'f*** off, Indian', and after that they just started punching," he said. "Things like this, when they happen, make you feel like you should go back," Singh said.

"You can change anything in your body, but you can't change the colours," he added.

A 20-year-old man was arrested by the police in Enfield on Sunday and charged with assault causing harm.

Premier of South Australia, Peter Malinauskas, condemned the alleged assault, calling it "completely unwelcome".

"Any time we see any evidence of any racial attack, it is completely unwelcome in our state and just not consistent with where the majority of our community is at," he said.

Another Indian Attacked In Dublin

The incident comes on the same day that an Indian techie was partially stripped and attacked in Dublin. The 40-year-old man, reportedly working for Amazon, is currently hospitalised at the Tallaght University Hospital for treatment, and the Gardai (Irish National Police) have opened an investigation into the incident.

The man was attacked by a group of teenage boys who falsely accused him of inappropriate behaviour with children before beating him and pulling down his pants.
