CIA Appoints Indian-Origin Nand Mulchandani As Its First Chief Technology Officer

New Delhi: Nand Mulchandani, an Indian-origin guy who attended a Delhi school, has been named the first Chief Technology Officer of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

Mulchandani has over 25 years of experience working in Silicon Valley and the Department of Defense, according to the CIA (DoD).

With more than 25 years of experience, Mr. Mulchandani will ensure the Agency is leveraging cutting-edge innovations to further CIA's mission.
Mulchandani "brings extensive private sector, startup, and government knowledge to CIA," according to the statement.
“Since my confirmation, I have prioritized focusing on technology and the new CTO position is a very important part of that effort. I am delighted Nand has joined our team and will bring his extensive experience to this crucial new role," Burns said.
Mulchandani will ensure that the Agency is harnessing cutting-edge technology in his capacity as CTO, according to the release.
Mulchandani's objective as CTO will also include "scanning the horizon for tomorrow's innovations to further the CIA's mission."
Mulchandani earned a Master of Science in Management from Stanford and a Master of Public Administration from Harvard after graduating from Cornell with a degree in Computer Science and Math.
Mulchandani formerly worked as the CTO and Acting Director of the Department of Defense's Joint Artificial Intelligence Center before joining the CIA.
