Ghaziabad: A woman here committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan of her bedroom, leaving a note stating that she was leaving the physical being. Rukmani Sharma, 29, hailed from Allahabad and was married to Rohit Rai in Sanjay Nagar residential locality where the incident occurred on Friday night, police said. She was pursuing research for her Ph.D from Sultanpur based Kamla Nehru Institute of Technology. Her husband works with a real estate company in Gurgaon. She was alone at night when she committed suicide. The incident came to light when their maid reached their residence to prepare the night meal since the husband was reaching home late night from his Gurgaon office. Since the house was locked from inside, the maid and neighbours called police who found Rukmani hanging from a ceiling fan. She was declared brought dead at the hospital. She was found hanging from a scarf used by some devotees during Navratras. In a diary seized from the house, she had written in her suicide note:"...I am following mother Goddess' wish....For my act no one is to be sad. Thanks to Mata Rani for inviting me to dissolve in its eternity." "We are verifying the suicide note. In the meantime the body has been sent for post-mortem," said Salman Taj Patil, superintendent of police, City.
