More than a week after Union Home Minister Amit Shah held mega roadshow in Birbhum district's Bolpur city, West Bengal Chief Minister held a grand rally at the same place on Tuesday to display party strength ahead of the state elections.
According to the reports, Trinamool Congress chief has taken a two-day program in Birbhum-Bolpur to win the hearts of the people of West Bengal. The main theme of the roadshow is Rabindranath Tagore with the aim to highlight Trinamool Congress's thoughts and ideas of Tagore.
Addressing the people of Bolpur, Mamata today said, "I don't like the derogatory remarks being made against Visva-Bharati." Without taking names, CM attacked BJP saying "Conspiracies being hatched to destroy the culture of Bengal. Stop politics of violence and divisive politics."

TMC supremo and Chief Minister Mamata on Monday hit back at Bharatiya Janata Party saying the saffron party-led central government is targetting Nobel laureates like Amartya Sen and Abhijit Banerjee for narrow politics. "I have been targeted politically. I do not mind that. Our educationists are being targeted and now they are feeling isolated. Nobel laureates like Amartya Sen or Abhijit Banerjee hold a different place in society. In all these years, they did not say anything on Netaji. Bharatiya Janata Party leader Amit Shah earlier this month on December 20, made a two-day visit to West Bengal to hold mega rallies and take stock of party's political situation as the state is scheduled to go to polls next year. The saffron party is leaving stone up-turned is investing unprecedented amounts of time and resources in the state months ahead of the state assembly polls n a bid to replace the ruling Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress. He visited the iconic Sangeet Bhawan of Visva Bharati University and also held a mega roadshow in Bolpur starting from Hanuman Mandir stadium road to Bolpur Circle in Birbhum of West Bengal. During the roadshow, Shah said that such huge participation shows that the people of Bengal want a change from Mamata Didi and from the infiltration of people from Bangladesh.
