Andhra Pradesh: Vizag MP's Wife, Son And Auditor Kidnapped For Ransom, Rescued Within Hours
The trio were rescued shortly after the police received the information of their kidnapping. A couple of police officers sustained minor injuries during the rescue operation.
The wife and son of YSR Congress Party MP MVV Satyanarayana and his auditor were kidnapped in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. However, the police acted swiftly and rescued the trio within hours on Thursday.
The gang that kidnapped the MP's wife, Jyothi, and their son, Sharad, demanded a ransom of Rs 1 crore. When the MP's aide and auditor, G Venkateshwar Rao, went to deliver the money, he was also abducted.
Gannamani Venkateswara Rao was the former chairman of Visakhapatnam Smart City Development Corporation and is considered close to Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Visakhapatnam Police Commissioner Trivikram Verma said all the individuals were rescued shortly after the police received the information, and they were now safe. During the rescue operation, a couple of police officers sustained minor injuries.
The exact time of the kidnapping of the MP's family members was not immediately clear. The police was alerted about the auditor's kidnapping on Thursday. The police arrested history-sheeter Hemanth Kumar and another person in connection with the kidnapping.

Using the mobile phone signals of the kidnappers, the police were able to trace them and rescue the MP's family members and aide from Eluru-Amalapuram road.
The criminals were trying to cross the city limits in vehicles when the police arrested them. A police vehicle was damaged during the operation.
The police commissioner mentioned that they received information about the kidnapping of Venkateshwar Rao around 8 am, and by 12.30 pm, all three individuals were rescued. The police are currently searching for another suspect.
The police officer stated that further details of the case would be announced later.
At the time of the kidnapping, the MP was not in the city. Satyanarayana, who was in Hyderabad, then rushed to Visakhapatnam.
