‘Do Not Tease DMK or DMKian’: TN CM Stalin Warns Centre After ED Arrests Minister Senthil Balaji
Stalin alleged, raids will be conducted in Karnataka, Telangana, Chattisgarh, West Bengal etc., but raids won’t take place in Gujarat and UP since those who govern there belong to the "truthful" BJP.
In a strong-worded statement a day after the arrest of Tamil Nadu Electricity Minister Senthil Balaji by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), CM Stalin warned the Centre against teasing DMK or a DMK-ian. Stalin told BJP-led Centre to not tease DMK because if they continue to tease then they would not be able to face the consequences.
On the Minister's arrest, Tamil Nadu CM in a video said, "With a case from 10 years ago, they (ED) locked him (Senthil Balaji) up for 18 hours, stressed him out, mentally and physically weakened him and caused life-threatening heart disease…Could there be any other blatant political revenge?"
The CM said that he does not say any objection to investigating Senthil Balaji if there was a case against him. However, he alleged that the ED locked a five-time MLA and a two-time Minister like a terrorist and questioned him.
"Is there any need for this? What is the urgency to carry out such an investigation? Is the country under an undeclared emergency?" he asked.
The CM said, BJP leadership wants to do their politics through Enforcement Directorate. BJP was not ready to meet people and do politics.
Stalin alleged, raids will be conducted in Karnataka, Telangana, Chattisgarh, West Bengal etc., but raids won’t take place in Gujarat and UP since those who govern there belong to "truthful" BJP.
The ED conducted 112 raids in 10 years before BJP rule but the same ED conducted 3,000 raids after BJP rule, he said adding that the crime has been proven only in 0.05% of cases.
As a result, Stalin asserted: "Do not tease! If you tease DMK or a DMKian you will not be able to face the consequence. We too know all politics and this is not a threat but a warning."
