VIRAL SACH: Indian army’s ‘ache din’ have come?

New Delhi: A message is going viral that says ‘ache din’ of Indian Army have come as they are moving in high-end SUVs. It is a fact that challenge from the Chinese has increased in last few years. The message says that Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar arranged for high-end SUVs like Endeavour and Fortuner. Hence, it is good days for the army. Here is the reality of the message, the cars were provided to ITBP in Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh for fast movement across the border. In the first phase, 4 SUVs with price above Rs 25 lakh have been deployed. ITBP spokesperson said these cars are being used on a trial basis. If the experiment would succeed, these would be used extensively. The border with China at Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh is at a height of 14 thousand feet and above. And Chinese army intrudes at various locations. And these cars can trade highly difficult terrain easily and reach these locations fast. However, ITBP comes under home ministry. Hence, the credit goes to Rajnath Singh, who is the home minister of the country. Also, army has not got these cars. Only ITBP has got. The viral message was only half-truth.
