Viral Sach: Gas connection holders get accidental insurance

It is being claimed in a viral message that a person gets insurance worth Rs 30 lakh if he dies or gets injured in a gas cylinder accident. What is the reality of the message? When we investigated, we found that the message was true. All the petroleum companies are compelled to insure their subscriber in case there is an accident. In case of death, the victim’s family would receive Rs 6 lakh. In cases of injury, a person would get Rs 2 lakh for treatment. In an individual case, the maximum insurance money to be given is Rs 30 lakh. However, there are few rules. The subscriber will get this benefit on registered address only. And the subscriber would have to facilitate yearly inspection. This message is half -truth.
