VIRAL SACH: Full fuel tanks of vehicles can cause explosion?

New Delhi: It is being claimed in a viral message that there were chances of explosion if somebody tries to get the fuel tank of his vehicle full. Here is the reality of the message. It is written in the message that Indian Oil has issued a warning against getting fuel tanks full. The message said that people must fill half of their fuel tanks to avoid accidents. Five explosions have already happened due to this, it claimed. The message advised people to release gas forming inside fuel tanks of vehicle. When we contacted Indian Oil, it said it has not issued such a warning. Indian Oil said that companies design fuel tanks in accordance with the capacity of the vehicle. Vehicles are totally safe in summers and in winters. The viral message is false.
