UP Minister's Brother Booked For Using PM Modi And CM Yogi’s Photos For Promoting ‘Swadeshi’ Mobile Phone Brand

The brother of UP minister Kapil Dev Agarwal has been booked for using the photos of the Prime Minister and state chief minister for promoting a mobile phone brand.

New Delhi: The brother of an Uttar Pradesh minister has been held for using photographs of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to promote a mobile brand. According to a report by PTI, a case has been registered against Lalit Agarwal on December 26 at the Hazratganj Police Station. Lalit Agarwal is the brother of Kapil Dev Agarwal, UP's Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Vocational Education and Skill Development. He runs an advertising agency and had used the photos of PM Modi and UP CM Yogi Adityanath on a hoarding in the run-up to launching of a mobile phone brand which took place on December 22. When questions were raised about the photos, they were removed from the hoarding on December 26. Agarwal also apologised for it. There is no merit in the case, and he will be cleared of all the charges," said Kapil Dev Agarwal in a report by PTI. Opposition demands CBI probe Congress leaders have demanded a probe by the CBI in this case and said that it was all done under the garb of 'vocal for local'. "The way in which in the garb of 'vocal for local', a minister held a press conference on the launch of a mobile phone, and told the public that along with being fully 'swadeshi', it is part of the skill development scheme (kaushal vikaas yojana), proves that corruption is at its peak in Uttar Pradesh," said UP Congress chief Ajay Kumar Lallu referring to Kapil Dev Agarwal. "This incident should be probed by the CBI, and people behind the scene should also be unmasked," he added
