Udaipur Tailor Murder: CM Ashok Gehlot Announces 'Out-Of-Term Promotion' For 5 Cops Who Nabbed Accused

Udaipur Murder Case Updates: CM Ashok Gehlot has informed that a case has been registered under UAPA in the matter.

New Delhi: Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday announced to give an out-of-term promotion to five policemen for arresting the accused involved in the Udaipur tailor killing. CM Gehlot has tweeted "It has been decided to give out-of-term promotion to five policemen, Mr. Tejpal, Mr. Narendra, Mr. Shaukat, Mr. Vikas and Mr. Gautam, who made quick arrests of the accused involved in the Udaipur incident."

On the Udaipur murder case, CM Gehlot has today informed that a case has been registered under UAPA in the matter. Further investigation will be done by NIA and Rajasthan ATS will cooperate in probing the matter.

Meanwhile, Shahi Imam of Delhi's Jama Masjid has also reacted to the killing saying, "Brutal murder in Udaipur has shaken humanity...It's not only an act of cowardice but also non-Islamic, illegal, and inhuman. On behalf of all Indian Muslims, I strongly condemn this..."

There is outrage across the country after the brutal murder of Kanhaiya Lal Sahu in Udaipur. At the same time, as a precaution, the administration has imposed Section 144 on the entire state. Also, a curfew has been implemented in 7 police station areas.

On the evening of June 28, Kanhaiya Lal Sahu was murdered in Udaipur, Rajasthan. Kanhaiya Lal used to work as a tailor. On Tuesday evening, the accused Riyaz and Ghaus Mohammad had reached his shop. After talking for a while at the shop, they killed Kanhaiya Lal with a sharp weapon.
