Suspected Case Of Monkeypox Reported In UP's Noida: Health Department

Noida Monekypox cases: A suspected case of Monkeypox has been reported in Uttar Pradesh's Noida.

New Delhi: A suspected case of monkeypox has been reported in Uttar Pradesh's Noida on Wednesday, said health department officials on Wednesday, as reported by news agency PTI. The patient is a 47-year-old woman who contacted the health department on Tuesday, after which her samples were taken, said officials. "The samples have been sent for a test to Lucknow, and the patient is in home isolation at the moment. Monkeypox can be confirmed only after the test results are out," a local health official said.

The travel history of the patient was at this point to be affirmed.

Monkeypox is a viral zoonosis (an infection sent to people from creatures) with symptoms similar to those found in the past in smallpox patients, in spite of the fact that it is clinically less severe.

Monkeypox is generally a self-restricted infection with the symptoms enduring two to about a month. It regularly gives itself fever, cerebral pain, rashes, sore throat, hack and enlarged lymph hubs.

India has up until this point recorded four cases of monkeypox, three in Kerala and one in Delhi.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that in view of the increasing cases of monkeypox infection in some parts of the country, special precautions should be taken in the state. According to the guidelines of the World Health Organisation and the Government of India, the general public should be made aware by giving correct and proper information about its symptoms, treatment and prevention, etc.
