New Delhi: The Royal Enfield Continental GT 750 cc variant will hit the market in March 2017. The news has been confirmed by Royal Enfield. The launch next year is pitted against the Harley Davidson Street 750.

The Continental GT 750cc is almost similar in looks with Continental GT which is already available in the market. The 750 cc variant has been already tested in UK. The new model will retain its telescopic front suspension, Paioli gas charged dampers for the rear, dual-caliper front and single-caliper disc brakes.

The new model has bigger motor with dual exhaust pipes and that is the most striking feature. The two-cylinder unit that displaces 750 cc, and is anticipated to make around 45-50 bhp is the newest addition. The Continental GT currently in the market carries a 535 cc engine that produces 29 hp. Its closest competitor – the Harley Davidson Street 750 – yields 47 bhp from its twin-cylinder power unit.

In the second quarter of 2017, the first phase of production will take off at the Vallam, Vadagal facility of Royal Enfield. The unit is located at a distance of 7 kilometers from the company’s Oragadam facility, neighboring Chennai. The production is expected to begin in full swing from 2017.
