According to the pronounced order, Navneet Kalra is subject to furnishing of a personal bond of two sureties of Rs 1 lakh each.

New Delhi: A Delhi Court on Saturday granted bail to Khan Chacha restaurant owner Navneet Kalra,  in conection with a case relating to alleged hoarding of oxygen concentrators.

Justice Arun Kumar Garg, Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Saket Court pronounced that Kalra is subject to furnishing of a personal bond of two sureties of Rs 1 lakh each.

Moreover, the Khan Chacha owner would not contact the customers to whom he had sold the oxygen concentrator, adding that he will not tamper with evidence, will not influence the witnesses and join the investigation whenever required.

Additional Public Prosecutor Atul Shrivastava appearing for the Delhi police opposed Kalra's bail application  on the ground that his intention was to cheat persons in vulnerable condition and make profit. Shrivastava further told the court that Kalra committed a white-collar crime and made profit by selling medical devices at exorbitant price to those on death beds. He added that the businessman and co-accused also tampered with the evidence.

Meanwhile, Senior Advocate Vikas Pahwa appearing for Kalra argued that no purpose would be served by keeping Kalra in pre-trial detention as no more recoveries have to be made from him, reported Bar & Bench.
