Businessman Navneet Kalra Sent To 3-Day Police Custody In Oxygen Concentrators Black Marketing Case

New Delhi: Businessman Navneet Kalra, who was arrested in connection with black marketing of oxygen concentrators, was on Monday sent to three-day police custody.

This came as Kalra, who was arrested last evening from his brother-in-law’s farmhouse in Gurugram, was produced before the Saket Court.

The Delhi Police earlier this month seized more than 500 concentrators from Khan Chacha restaurant in Khan Market in the national capital.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), South Delhi, Atul Bhatia, said that Nege Ju Restaurant and Bar located at central market Lodhi Colony was found open during area patrolling and some suspicious activity was going on. After verification, the owner of the restaurant and bar was identified as one Navneet Kalra.

The police, which registered a case under several Sections of the IPC, Essential Commodities Act and Epidemic Diseases Act, took four accused — Gaurav, Satish Sethi, Vikrant and Hitesh — into custody.

On May 10, the Delhi Police moving ahead in its probe into the recovery of over 500 oxygen concentrators from famous eateries in South Delhi, issued look out notice against the owner of Khan Chacha restaurant and Kalra.

Later, Kalra had moved the Saket Court seeking anticipatory bail in the matter. Special Judge, Saket Courts, Sumit Dass, ordered that Kalra's anticipatory bail application be listed before the District and Sessions Judge.

The sessions court dismissed Kalra’s anticipatory bail plea and said the allegations against him were serious.
