New Delhi: A major fire broke out in the premises of Nashik’s Currency Note Press (CNP) on Thursday, said a fire brigade official, quoted by news agency PTI.

No injury to any person or damage to property was reported due to the fire and the flames were doused within three hours, the official said.

The blaze began in a heap of scrap material stored on the CNP premises in the Nehru Nagar area around noon, the official added. The scrap material included ink containers and there was thick grass around the spot, he said.

The fire was doused by 3 pm and a cooling operation was underway, he added.
