Mahindra XUV500 W3 Launched At Rs 12.31 Lakh

The new base variant now makes the XUV500 more affordable to own than the Harrier

Mahindra has introduced a new variant of the XUV500, the W3. This is the new base variant and costs Rs 12.31 lakh. At this price the W3 variant undercuts the W5, which was the most affordable variant till now, by Rs 59,000. The XUV500 W3 can be had with the same 2.2-litre diesel engine as other variants. This engine is capable of producing 155PS of maximum power and 360Nm of peak torque, and is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. In terms of features, the two misses on the XUV500 W3 compared to the W5 are the audio system with the 6-inch monochrome display as well as USB and Bluetooth connectivity, and the full wheel caps all around. The W3 variant gets dual front airbags, disc brakes on all four wheels, electrically adjustable ORVMs and projector headlamps. It gets 17-inch steel wheels and same upholstery inside as the W5. Given its equipment level, the W3 variant delivers better value than the W5. Mahindra XUV500 W3 Launched At Rs 12.31 Lakh At Rs 12.31 lakh, the base XUV500 W3 is now more affordable than the entry-level Tata Harrier, which is priced at Rs 12.7 lakh (all prices ex-showroom Delhi).
