Holi 2022 Celebration: Special emphasis has been given in the circular that if anyone is found trying to create a ruckus by consuming alcohol on the occasion of Holi, then strict action will be taken against him.

New Delhi: Guidelines for Holi celebrations have been issued by the Government of Maharashtra ahead of the festival on Wednesday. According to the rules issued by the Home Department of the Maha Vikas Aghadi government, it has been asked to strictly follow the COVID-19 related rules and regulations and not to damage trees during the Holi festival.

The reason behind this has been told that due to less infection, restrictions related to COVID-19 have been relaxed in the state. Holi is likely to be celebrated with pomp this time after two years of strict restrictions of the coronavirus period. 

According to the guidelines issued by the Home Department, citizens in the state are advised to burn Holika Dahan before 10 pm. Meanwhile, playing DJ, holding dance programs, or gathering more people will not be allowed during Holika Dahan. The government has also been strict about alcohol consumption. Special emphasis has been given in the circular that if anyone is found trying to create a ruckus by consuming alcohol on the occasion of Holi, then strict action will be taken against him.

Apart from this, people are allowed to play colors only till 10 pm, as per the new guidelines. In view of the ongoing 10th and 12th examinations, loudspeakers should not be used loudly. Apart from this, it has been said in the rules that balloons filled with paint or water should not be thrown at anyone. Along with this, action will also be taken on trying to bring color to someone forcibly.

In the rules issued by the Home Department, it has been made clear that special care should be taken of the rules related to COVID-19. It is expected to take care of the general rules related to coronavirus like wearing masks, washing hands frequently, keeping a distance of two yards from each other, and not gathering crowds.
