Maharashtra Corona Lockdown: Govt Extends Restrictions Till Jan 31; Check Rules For New Year Celebration

In order to prevent the further spread of corona virus in the state, Uddhav Thackeray led Maharashtra government on Wednesday announced to extend the lockdown restrictions in the state till 31 January next year. In an official notice issued today, the state government said "The state is threatened with the spread of Covid-19 virus. Therefore, to take certain emergency measures to prevent and contain the spread of the virus, the lockdown in the state has been extended till January 31."
According to the government statement, all the activities permitted from time to time shall be continued. Moreover, the government has eased several lockdown restrictions in a bid to allow economic activities in the state.
Rules To Be Followed On New Year:
- The Maharashtra govt appealed people to welcome the new year sitting at home. If possible, do not get out of homes and welcome the new year with simplicity.
- On December 31, avoid gathering in crowds near beaches and gardens, especially at Gateway of India, Marine Lines, Juhu Chowpatty and other public places.
- Follow social distance in public places
- Use face masks and sanitizers when step out of homes.
- Elderly people (60) and children (10) should avoid going out of the house.
