Kerala: Rahul Gandhi Holds Roadshow, Thanks People Amid Wayanad Or Rae Bareli 'Dilemma'

The visit comes on the heels of Rahul Gandhi's victory from Wayanad constituency in the Lok Sabha elections where he defeated CPI candidate Annie Raja by a margin of 3,64,422 votes.

Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi visited Wayanad and held a roadshow in Kerala on Wednesday. Gandhi's visit to Wayanad has sparked speculation that he may decide to vacate the Kerala seat in favour of retaining Raebareli, a traditional Congress stronghold in Uttar Pradesh.

This visit also comes on the heels of his resounding victory in the Wayanad constituency during the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, where he defeated CPI candidate Annie Raja by a margin of 3,64,422 votes.

Upon arriving in Wayanad, Congress MP from the consistency Rahul Gandhi held a roadshow in Edavanna, Malappuram district. He also addressed a public gathering in Edavanna.

Rahul Gandhi said: "The people of Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, and all other states showed the Prime Minister that he cannot dictate to the people of India what they want. The people of India also so the PM that the Constitution is our voice, do not touch it."

Expressing gratitude to the people of Wayanad for re-electing him to a second term in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi conveyed, "I look forward to seeing you all soon."

Addressing a public gathering, he shared his dilemma regarding whether to continue as the Member of Parliament for Wayanad or for Rae Bareli. Assuring the constituents, he stated, "What I can assure you is that I will make a decision that brings satisfaction to both Wayanad and Rae Bareli."

Meanwhile, in light of Gandhi's visit, the opposition United Democratic Front (UDF) has postponed a protest march to the state Assembly that was initially scheduled for June 12. The UDF issued a statement on Monday confirming the change in plans to accommodate the Congress leader's itinerary.
