Karnataka High Court Seeks Investigation Report On Sasikala's Treatment In Prison

A senior police official D Roopa had exposed the alleged special treatment provided to both the convicts at the prison and an independent inquiry committee had confirmed her charges.

Chennai: The Karnataka High Court had directed the authorities to submit a report after investigating the case of alleged preferential treatment given to VK Sasikala, when she had undergone imprisonment at Parappana Agrahara central prison at Bengaluru. The Court on Friday had given two weeks’ time to submit the investigation report.

According to a report in IANS, a social activist KS Geetha had filed a public interest litigation before the High Court alleging that the investigation into the case of alleged preferential treatment given to Sasikala, was deliberately delayed. While hearing the case, acting Chief Justice SC Sharma on Friday directed the government counsel V Srinidhi to submit a report after investigating the issue within two weeks.

Quoting the petitioner, the report said that even though a criminal case has been registered against the alleged corruption inside Parappana Agrahara Central prison in Bengaluru for extending luxurious facilities to Sasikala, the final report has not been submitted yet.

According to the report, a senior police official D Roopa had exposed the alleged special treatment provided to both the convicts at the prison and an independent inquiry committee had confirmed her charges.
