The complaint was lodged after students and members of the JNU Students Union, All India Students Association (AISA), Students’ Federation of India (SFI), and Democratic Students’ Federation (DSF) took out a march inside the campus and then reached the Vasant Kunj Police Station to report the incident.
“We received a complaint from a group of students who are members of JNUSU, SFI, DSF & AISA early this morning against unknown ABVP students. Accordingly, we lodged an FIR under Sec -323, 341, 509, 506, 34 IPC. Further probe is on to collect evidence & identify culprits,” said the Delhi Police

Meanwhile students from RSS-affiliated ABVP have also “intimated that they will be filing the complaint today morning. On receipt of the same, necessary action will be taken,” the police added, reported ANI.
The JNUSU and ABVP took out separate marches inside the campus to protest against the clash that broke out between the two sides on Sunday.
The JNUSU has alleged that the ABVP members stopped students from eating non-vegetarian food in the hostel mess and created a violent atmosphere. However, the right-wing ABVP denied the charge and claimed that "Leftists" obstructed a puja programme organised at the hostel on Ram Navami, reported PTI.
