Jeep Receives 1000 Bookings For Compass In 3 Days
Post the Compass' confirmation for the Indian market and its global debut in late 2016, Jeep's upcoming entry-level SUV has generated tremendous buzz among buyers!
Jeep kick started operations from its Ranjangaon facility this month with the rollout of the first made-in-India Compass. Last week, the iconic American off-road vehicle manufacturer started accepting booking for their entry-level SUV. In not less than three days, the Jeep Compass has received over 1000 pre-bookings at a fully-refundable amount of Rs 50,000. This is quite an impressive response, especially after the manufacturer disappointed Jeep aficionados in the country last year with the absurd pricing of the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and the Grand Cherokee.
After last year’s pricing fiasco, it is safe to say the nation now impatiently waits for the Compass’ pricing. Jeep needs to get the pricing right if it needs the Compass to be a success. The Compass’ price will also play a huge role in making the brand more popular since the other two models brought in via the CBU (completely built unit) route are practically inaccessible for many. We expect the Jeep Compass to be priced around the vicinity of Rs 18 lakh for the base variant.
The Compass’ pre-launch brochure was leaked recently and gave us a look at what to expect from the three variants of the SUV. Planning to pre-book the Compass? Check out which variant suits you the best here: Jeep Compass: Variants Explained
When it is launched in August, the Jeep Compass will go head-to-head with other SUVs such as the Hyundai Tucson, Honda CR-V and the VW Tiguan. We recently drove the top-spec 4x4 diesel variant of the Compass and here’s what we think about it: Jeep Compass: First Drive Review
