'Your Child’s Aadhaar Card Will Be Deactivated IF...': UIDAI Made A Major Rule Change - CHECK

Aadhaar News: Services like school admission, entrance exam registration, scholarships, and more can be easily accessed with an Aadhaar card.

Aadhaar Update News: The regulations relating to children's Aadhar cards have undergone significant modifications by UIDAI. It is now required that children who received their Aadhar cards before the age of five update their biometrics once they turn seven. The child's Aadhar card's 12-digit unique identification number may be deactivated if this is not done. An official statement has provided this information. To finish the "mandatory update of biometric" (MBU) process, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has begun texting children's Aadhar-registered mobile numbers.

The statement states that "Maintaining the accuracy and dependability of children's biometric data requires timely completion of MBU." According to current regulations, the Aadhaar number may be deactivated if MBU is not finished, even after the age of seven. According to a UIDAI official, children may have trouble obtaining benefits from different Aadhaar-linked programs if their fingerprint and iris information is not updated on their Aadhaar cards.

Children under the age of five do not actually have their fingerprints or iris biometrics taken when they enroll in Aadhaar. Only a child under five years old's name, address, date of birth, gender, photo, and proof of identity are needed to enroll in Aadhaar. As stated in the statement, "The current regulations require that the fingerprints, iris, and photo in the child's Aadhaar details be updated by the time the child turns five." This is the first chance to update the biometrics in a mandatory manner.

The required biometric update is free if the child completes it between the ages of five and seven. However, updating the biometrics after the age of seven comes with a 100 rupee fee. A child's life is made easier by an Aadhaar card with updated biometrics, according to UIDAI, which also guarantees that Aadhaar can be used seamlessly to access services like school admission, entrance exam registration, scholarships, and more.
